Water Research & Development Center (WRDC) – Uganda

Creating Sustainable Water Solutions, Together
The Water Research & Development Center (WRDC) in Uganda is the operational heart of The Ayin Project’s mission to make safe water accessible to all.
We believe sustainable water access begins with knowledge, collaboration, and empowerment. That’s why the WRDC combines research, education, and hands-on implementation—bridging science and practice to create lasting change.
OUR MISSION
“To create greater water accessibility in developing countries, through the implementation of sustainable solutions and the empowerment of local collaborators.”
The WRDC puts this mission into action by creating knowledge, brokering knowledge, and delivering practical, data-informed solutions that strengthen water accessibility across communities, schools, and industries.

What We Do
Water Testing Laboratory
Our on-site water testing lab provides safe water monitoring for communities, schools, industries, and businesses—ensuring water quality and safety through continuous testing, monitoring, and data collection.
Water Infrastructure Repair
We strengthen community access to water by repairing and maintaining essential infrastructure such as hand pumps and rainwater catchment systems. Through hands-on repair initiatives and local technician training, we restore functionality to existing systems while building local capacity for long-term maintenance and sustainability.
WASH Consulting & Assessments
From research and evaluation to implementation and follow-up, our team provides Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) consulting for NGOs, schools, industries, and community leaders—helping every partner reach Uganda’s 3-Star WASH guidelines.
What We Do
We identify local water challenges, conduct data-driven assessments, and design sustainable, community-centered solutions. Through innovation and collaboration, we’re developing appropriate technologies tailored to Uganda’s unique needs.
